Description: Ribbon jello is a delicious dessert dish made with layers of sweet cream and jello. This will be created in a large standard 9x13 rectangle pan. Optionally you can make it in small cups. This recipe will make about 10 - 12 of them. A layer of jello will be put down, then solidified in the fridge, then a layer of cream, then jello then cream until it's finished with four layers of Jello and 3 of cream. Different colors of Jello can be used to match holidays or themed occasions. Food coloring can be used in the cream for extra color if desired.

Jello Directions:

  1. Heat 1 cup of water until it boils.
  2. Add one pack of jello and stir until the jello is dissolved.
  3. Next add a half cup of cold water.
  4. Once the mixture has cooled, it's ready to pour into your pan. Jello should be poured into the pan and solidified in the fridge for 30 minutes or until solid, followed by a cream layer. Repeat the process until you have 4 layers of jello and 3 layers of cream.

Cream Directions:

  1. Bloom the packs of unflavored gelatin in a small amount of cold water.
  2. Pour two cups of milk and a cup of sugar in a pot on the stove and warm on medium heat. Scald the milk but don't let it boil or burn! (little tiny bubbles should sprout up around the edges).
  3. Take the milk off the heat and stir in your sour cream until it's consistent with no chunks.
  4. Add in the unflavored gelatin and stir until it completely dissolves.
  5. After every layer of solid jello add a layer of cream from this pot. This will make enough cream for 3 layers. If your pot of cream starts to solidify on the stove, simply warm it and stir until it's a smooth liquid again.
